Iron Horse Inn Historic Bed and Breakfast and Cottages is the jewel of Granbury Texas.
It is a lovingly preserved Craftsman-style historic mansion, built in 1907. It retains a
lot of its original features including a gorgeous hand carved staircase, unique
light fixtures and copper leaded glass, and
is furnished with antiques dating back to the
1880's. There are six tastefully decorated bedrooms in the historic mansion,
all with large private bathrooms. This lovely old
home also has a large airy porch
perfect to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or evening dessert. Set on over an acre of
lush gardens, the mansion is surrounded by beautiful shade trees and has a
relaxing Koi pond and waterfall in a tranquil setting. Also available are
our two guest cottages, the romantic Nantucket Cottage and the adorable 1950's
Garden Gate Cottage. There are cable TV's in 7 of our 8 rooms.
We like
to think that we offer the best of Texas hospitality
with true Irish charm. We are located right beside the city's hike
and bike trail where you can enjoy a leisurely 5 minute stroll into the center of Granbury's
historic square through the lovely Shanley park.
On the weekends the city's free trolleybus service stops every hour right outside our
elegant bed and breakfast
and cottages.
The historic
town of Granbury is a popular destination well loved for its wide range of
interesting shops,
live theaters and fascinating museums and
galleries. Of course Lake Granbury also offers a wide
range
of interesting activities, and has a lovely beach and
boardwalk
to enjoy. Whether
you want a romantic getaway for the two of you, or a family reunion, this is
the perfect
place to stay.
The
